Song & Visual: No Not One
by Marie Stroughter
Using a familiar hymn, here's a song & visual to help reinforce
the concept that God's word is special.
Idea: Song: There's Not A Book (Like the Holy Bible)
(To the tune of the hymn: "No Not One")
Ages: Birth to 5 years old
CONCEPT: A song & visual to show how special the
Bible is
Materials:
(4) clear sheets of sheet protectors (available from an office supply
store)
Clear contact paper or transparent tape
Scissors
Regular or construction paper
Markers, crayons or pens
Activity: For the visual: In one of the sheet protectors put a large
picture of the Bible (adhere with contact paper or clear tape); in another
put a red heart; in the third one, put the word GOD (in cut out letters);
and in the 4th, put the word JESUS (also in cut out letters). The layer
order should be Bible on bottom, then the sheet with the heart, then
God, then Jesus. When you sing the song, show the Bible for the first
verse. The on top of it the heart for the second verse. Then "God"
for the part about God, and "Jesus" for the part about Him.
A really great visual when you see it all together!) :
Song Lyrics:
There's not a book like the Holy Bible,
No not one,
No not one.
There's not a book that we love so dearly,
No not one,
No not one.
For it tells us of God, the Father,
And it tells us of Jesus, His Son.
There's not a book like the Holy Bible,
No not one,
No not one.
